General Eligibility

Participants can be aged up to a maximum of 35 years old to enter the competition.

This competition is open only to bands.

Employees, partners, or affiliates of Jazbaa and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

The competition is based on a Pan Maharashtra demographic. Proof of identity is mandatory.

Entry Requirements

All entries must be submitted through the official website or designated entry platform by 22nd October 2024.

The submission should not contain any offensive, harmful, or inappropriate content, including:

  • Offensive language
  • Hate speech
  • Political messages

Competition Format and Performance Guidelines

Strict Adherence to Timelines: Participants must strictly adhere to the timelines provided by the organizers. Any failure to comply will result in penalties.

Time Allocation:

  1. Sound Check: 7 minutes
  2. Gear Up: 3 minutes
  3. Performance Time: 5 minutes

Point Deduction for Extension: Any extension of the above-mentioned timelines will result in automatic point deduction without exception.

Performance Content: Each participant is allowed to perform only one song. Medleys are also included

Master of Ceremonies (MOC): The introduction of the band will be done by the Master of Ceremonies. Performers are not permitted to introduce themselves.

Non-stop Performance: Once the signal to start has been given, the performer must complete the performance without stopping. If a performer stops mid-performance, the MOC will take over, and the performance will be deemed complete.

Instrument Failures: In the case of instrument damage, such as a broken guitar string or other malfunctions, the performer is allowed to switch to a backup instrument displayed on stage.

Sound Failure:

  • If the sound goes out after 2 minutes into the performance, it will be considered valid for scoring.
  • If the sound failure occurs within the first 2 minutes, the performer will be given an opportunity to re-perform.

Use of Provided Instruments: All performers must use the instruments provided by Yamaha. The only exception is for participants who play Indian classical instruments, in which case they may use their own.

Stage Boundaries: Performers must confine their performance within the stage area. Coming off stage to engage or involve the crowd is strictly prohibited.

Prohibited Items on Stage: No objects, apart from musical instruments, are allowed on stage. Any violation of this rule will result in disqualification.

Conduct and Behavior

Intoxication: Any performers found under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substances will be immediately disqualified and will not be allowed to take the stage under any circumstances.

Foul Language and Lewd Gestures: The use of foul language or lewd gestures during the performance is strictly prohibited. Violators will be disqualified without warning.

Judging Criteria

Performances will be judged based on:

  • Musical talent (vocals, instrumentation, arrangement)
  • Originality (uniqueness and creativity of the song)
  • Stage presence (performance quality, charisma)
  • Audience engagement (social media activity. fanbase interaction)


The decision of the judging panel is final and cannot be contested

In the event of a tie, additional rounds of judging or public voting may be introduced.

Prizes

The winner(s) will receive:

  1. ₹ 3 Lacs worth of musical instruments
  2. Opportunities for performances (e.g.: [specific concerts, festivals])
  3. Recording sessions with [Recording Studio/Producer]
  4. A 2 day 1 night stay at Khanvel Resort & many more

 

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other alternatives.

All prizes are subject to availability, and Jazbaa reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

Intellectual Property Rights

By entering the competition, participants affirm that their entry is their own original work.

All participants retain full ownership of their music, but by entering the competition, they grant Jazbaa a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and promote their submission for promotional purposes related to the competition.

Jazbaa will not be responsible for any copyright infringement claims regarding the participant’s submission.

Publicity

By entering, participants agree to participate in promotional activities, including but not limited to interviews, performances, and social media posts related to the competition.

Jazbaa reserves the right to use participants’ names, likenesses, and performances for promotional purposes in any media without additional compensation.

Disqualification

Jazbaa reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:

  1. Fails to adhere to these terms and conditions
  2. Provides false information during the registration process
  3. Engages in fraudulent or unethical behavior

 

Disqualification decisions are final and will not be subject to review.

Limitation of Liability

Jazbaa will not be held responsible for:

  1. Any technical failures, malfunctions, or delays in entry submissions
  2. Any loss, injury, or damage incurred by participants during their participation in the competition
  3. Third-party claims arising from intellectual property disputes

 

Participants assume full responsibility for their own safety and wellbeing throughout the competition.

Cancellation or Modification

Jazbaa reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or amend the competition, including these terms and conditions, at any time without prior notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

In the event of cancellation, all submitted entries and materials will remain the property of the participants unless stated otherwise.

Force Majeure

This contest is subject to force majeure events, including but not limited to floods, natural disasters, war, acts of terrorism, political unrest, technical disruptions, acts of God, or any circumstances beyond Jazbaa’s reasonable control (“Force Majeure Event”). Jazbaa shall not be held liable for any delays or
adverse effects caused to you as a result of such events.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Maharashtra courts.
